Palfinger Marine crane PK 12000 M for Maritime Faculty from Rijeka
A stationary installed Palfinger Marine crane PK 12000 M was delivered to Pomorski fakultet Rijeka (Rijeka Maritime Faculty). The crane is mounted on the quay near the century-old torpedo launch ramp and will be used to raise and lowe vessels for the needs of the Faculty. The crane is equipped with a winch and a mechanical cross with a capacity of 2.000 kg for easier manipulation of vessels. The crane is supplied with a power unit with a suitable hydraulic pump for starting the crane. The crane is controlled by manual controls that are located in the aluminum case.
Pomorski fakultet Rijeka is one of the oldest higher education and scientific research institutions in the maritime field in Croatia. The roots of its activity date back to 1866, when the Austro-Hungarian Naval Academy began operating in Rijeka in the building of the Rijeka Hospital, which operated until 1914, and since 1889 it has been operating as the Military maritime academy.
