PK-PALFINGER KRAN d.o.o. delivered a special multipurpose PPRS48 semi-trailer to LED Elektronika, designed for transporting construction machinery, poles, pipes, various types of cargo and 20-foot containers. Thanks to its multipurpose design and preparation for the subsequent installation of a PALFINGER crane, the semi-trailer is suitable for a wide range of transport and operational tasks.
LED Elektronika is a Croatian company headquartered in Ivanić-Grad, where it also operates its production facility. The company specialises in the development, design, production, installation and maintenance of road electronics, telematics and LED lighting systems. LED Elektronika regularly renews and adapts its machinery at the PK-PALFINGER KRAN production facility, while the new semi-trailer further expands its transport capabilities.
The semi-trailer has an overall length of approximately 12,950 mm, while the loading area is 8,900 mm long. The loading area is 2,480 mm wide and can be extended to approximately 3,000 mm. The semi-trailer has a technical load capacity of 48,000 kg.
Two folding ramps, each 800 mm wide, enable the loading and unloading of construction machinery. The ramps are hydraulically raised and lowered and can be moved up to 400 mm to the left or right, allowing them to accommodate different track and wheel widths. The sloped rear section of the platform and the lowered ramp angle of approximately 12 degrees further facilitate loading and unloading.
The semi-trailer is equipped with 600 mm-high aluminium side panels. The raised front section, or gooseneck, is enclosed by panels on all sides, providing an additional protected area for transporting equipment and materials.
The front section of the semi-trailer has been prepared for the subsequent installation of a PALFINGER PK 17.001 SLD 3, PK 19.001 SLD 5, PK 21.501 SLD 3 or PK 24.001 SLD 5 crane.
Two pairs of twist-lock fittings have been installed for transporting a 20-foot container. In addition to construction machinery, poles and pipes, the semi-trailer is therefore also suitable for the secure transport of a standard container. A total of eight LED work lights have been installed to improve visibility around the working area: two on the front wall, two on each side of the semi-trailer and two at the rear. A camera provides additional safety when reversing and manoeuvring.
The semi-trailer features three axles, each with a load capacity of 12,000 kg, air suspension and a self-steering rear axle. It is equipped with a WABCO braking system featuring EBS, automatic load-dependent braking force adjustment and a roll stability system. An integrated information centre with weighing functionality enables the semi-trailer’s total weight to be monitored, while the TPMS monitors tyre pressure and temperature.
The combination of a low-bed platform, hydraulic ramps, side panels, twist-lock fittings and preparation for a PALFINGER crane makes the PPRS48 a flexible transport solution tailored to the various requirements of LED Elektronika.
