PK Partner of the International Competition for Young Singers “Zinka Milanov”

PK company regularly monitors cultural events in Rijeka and its surroundings, especially when young people are involved in projects. This year’s third edition of the International Competition for Young Opera Singers “Zinka Milanov” could not pass without the support of the company PK. The international competition is held within the Rijeka Summer nights and is certainly one of the most valuable and rare events promoting young musical talents.

After the three hour program, three finalists, Sławomir Kowalewski, baritone from Poland, Julia Muzychenko, Russian soprano, and Bariton from South Korea, Beomseok Choi, shared a total of six prizes awarded after the jury and audience decision after the Gala Concert. Sławomir Kowalewski is the winner of the first prize of the International Jury and the Special Prize of the HNK Ivan pl. Zajc, Julia Muzychenko is the winner according to the decision of the audience, and the second one according to the decision of the international jury while Beomseok Choi won the third prize of the International Jury and the Special Jury Prize of the HNK Ivana pl. Zajc. While the awards of the international jury, thanks to sponsors, money, the jury of the Rijeka Opera Awards, they have been engaged in one of the opera or concert productions over the next two seasons. The first prize was awarded by Mr. Erkki Ranta, Director of Oil Refinery Rijeka, the second prize on behalf of the sponsor of the company PK-Palfinger Crane awarded by Mrs. Nataša Rakovac-Rustja, Procurator of the company PK d.o.o., and the third prize on behalf of the sponsor of the Special Hospital “Dr. Nemec “was handed by dr.med. Damir Štifanić.

And when it comes to audience awards, everyone who wanted tonight to round the number in front of their favorite, found themselves in difficult dilemmas, as they spoke. “It’s hard to pick the best singer or singer when they’re in the final – the best! One better than the other! “Commented the audience. The finalists of the third international competition for young singers Zinka Milanov, including the three awards, were Ceren Aydin Akkoç from Turkey, Anabela Barić from Croatia, Anna Litvin from Russia, Youdae Won from South Korea, Margareta Matišić from Croatia, Leela Subramaniam from USA and Ewa Banasiak from Poland. They all performed with the orchestra of the Rijeka Opera, under the leadership of Master Marc Boem, and in front of a filled audience and satisfied audience who followed them and supported a strong and heartfelt applause.
