PALFINGER MARINE had the honor of equipping the world’s largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, with one of its cranes. Built at the St. Nazaire shipyard in France, this massive vessel features a Palfinger PK 150002 M crane, centrally positioned on the highest of the ship’s 18 decks.
With an overall length of 362.10 meters and a capacity to accommodate 6,780 guests, Harmony of the Seas represents the pinnacle of modern cruise ship engineering. The PK 150002 M crane, boasting a 27-meter outreach, is DNV-certified, ensuring high performance and reliability. Strategically installed on the top deck, the crane is intended for cargo transport between the upper and lower decks.
Following the success of this project, Palfinger Marine has already received an order for an identical crane for a sister ship to Harmony of the Seas. The new crane is scheduled for delivery to the STX shipyard by the end of 2016. year.
