Rijeka’s Korzo recently hosted a unique premiere – the unveiling of the first fully electric race car developed by students from the RiTeh Racing Team association. The black-and-green speedster, code-named RRCe, is the result of months of work and dedication by over 50 students from the University of Rijeka. Through a multidisciplinary approach – from mechanical and electrical engineering to law and economics – they created this impressive electric vehicle.
The car is powered by an 80 kW (110 hp) electric motor, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 110 km/h. It weighs 250 kg and generates a remarkable 700 Nm of thrust.
Designed and built almost entirely within the facilities of the Faculty of Engineering and the Torpedo Innovation Center, the RRCe race car symbolizes the knowledge, passion, and teamwork of Rijeka’s students.
PK-PALFINGER KRAN d.o.o. proudly supported this project from the very beginning, recognizing the importance of investing in young talent and technological innovation. A smaller portion of the vehicle’s structural elements was cut and prepared for assembly at PK’s facility, where our team assisted in implementing technically demanding solutions.
The race car will soon be showcased to the professional public at the Formula Student Alpe Adria international event in Mičevac, where the Rijeka team will compete alongside peers from across Europe.
Congratulations to the entire team on this outstanding achievement! 👏
