PALFINGER Expands Its Market Leadership in the Crane Industry

Following a highly successful 2014 financial year, 2015 is also shaping up to be a record-breaking year for PALFINGER, with new sales highs expected.

As the global leader in crane manufacturing, PALFINGER continues to make strong progress through the systematic implementation of its international growth strategy and a broad portfolio of innovations. One example is the launch of the next-generation crane model PK 165.002 TEC 7, introduced in June.

The future looks very promising for PALFINGER. In 2014, the company surpassed €1 billion in sales for the first time in its history, driven by innovation and global market expansion. Outside of Europe, PALFINGER has entered new markets, further strengthening its position as a global leader in hydraulic lifting solutions.

PALFINGER currently holds over 30% of the global market share.

Next-Generation Cranes

In June, PALFINGER introduced the PK 165.002 TEC 7, a next-generation crane that combines power and reach, specifically designed for 32-tonne GVW vehicles. Even when fully equipped, the crane remains within the legal gross vehicle weight, resulting in cost and time savings. The PK 165.002 TEC 7 is one tonne lighter than its predecessor, the PK 150002, and offers a lifting moment of 125 tonne-meters, which is a 15% increase over the previous model.
With this new crane and continuous advancements in hydraulics, electronics, and the use of high-strength steel, PALFINGER continues to reinforce its leading position in the global crane market.

The company’s outlook remains strong. Sales performance in the first half of 2015 reflects this momentum, with revenue rising by 10.7% to €292.3 million—clearly indicating that PALFINGER is on the right track.
